TOPAZ DENOISE VS DXO SOFTWARE

I’d like to point out that this post IS NOT sponsored by any of the software manufacturers mentioned in this post ( Topaz this is a hint for you :)).įirst, let’s get something straight. So this is when I decided to try some of the newest AI-powered denoise software. This is not a thing only in Slovenia but people with over 20 years of experience had to find new employment in Austria, Hungary, Italy, and all the surrounding countries.īad light = not technically perfect shots. Most of the Slovenian entertainment experts (light and sound techs, etc) moved to different branches of the industry or just left the industry completely, resulting in more and more bad lights at concerts. In the last few years thanks to Canon Slovenija and Foto Format most of my tech needs were covered by them, thus allowing me to get my hands on the latest stuff Canon has to offer. I often get annoyed if the focus is not exactly where it needs to be if there is motion blur etc. apply it to the EM1.2_ISOxxxxx_0EV_EFC.JPG file and post it in this thread. So after well over 10 years of concert photography, it’s been pointed out that I am what you call a “tech guy”. In case you find much better settings feel free to e.g. I really struggled to find the best settings for Topaz Denoise, so I sticked with auto. You can find the all the files in the Dropbox.

There is also a run with DXO_HQ.jpg file, so lightness and colors match here, but Topaz has to deal with the (good and bad) changes introduces by DXO Therefore the lightness and color of the Topaz file is different from the rest, but should be good enough to compare the noise reduction. for ISO25600 it looks like this:ĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC.JPG = Out of camera JPGĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_HQ.jpg = DXO HQ with default setting 40ĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC-DeNoiseAI-denoise.JPG = Topaz Denoise with Automatic settingsĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_HQ-DeNoiseAI-denoise.jpg = Topaz Denoise of DXO HQ with 40ĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_DeepPrime-DeNoiseAI-denoise.jpg = DeepPrime with 40 + Topaz Denoise with Automatic afterwardsĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_DeepPrime.jpg = DeepPrime with default setting 40ĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_DeepPrime75.jpg = DeepPrime with setting 75ĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_DeepPrime75_USM.jpg = DeepPrime with setting 75 + USM appliedĮM1.2_ISO25600_0EV_EFC_DXO_Prime.jpg = Prime with default setting 40įor Topaz I used the for first run the out of camera JPG (the RAW does not work better).

I've uploaded the files to the Dropbox, so you can download them and compare in full size. I took an old Test-Setup Shoot I did in 2017 with my EM 1.2 from same scene with an ISO range from ISO 64 to ISO 25600 and processed them in DXO PL4 with Prime and DeepPrime and also with Topaz Denoise.
